From the serie Austin, Texas by Lise Sarfati
I really like Sarfati’s palette and how softly she captures natural light. The Algerian-born shoots her with a Leica 35mm camera, with a 35mm lens, and just natural light.
For her On Hollywood and The New Life series she chose Kodachrome 64 film stock which was used in Hollywood movies of the 1940s. It is the last photographic series made with this stock which ceased being produced in June 2009.
Her influences are mostly literary but among photographers she’s inspired by Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Nan Goldin, Cindy Sherman, William Eggleston  and Harry Callahan.
